Adams Information Adams, with a population of 8,809, is located on Route 8 close to the New York and Vermont borders. Adams is governed by a five-member board of selectmen and a town administrator. Adams is an area of natural beauty, with a mixture of dense forests, open fields, mountain streams and a variety of native wildlife. The town is also home to Massachusetts’ highest peak, Mount Greylock, and is the birthplace of women’s rights activist Susan B. Anthony.
